Helping Businesses and Individuals Resolve Tax Controversies For More Than 35 Years

Learn More

Finding the best solution for a tax dispute requires a detailed and hands-on understanding of the federal and state tax systems as well as an understanding of your legal rights as a taxpayer.

Experience Makes the Difference

In 1982, I started representing individuals and businesses before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the Minnesota Department of Revenue (MDR), and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (MDEED). During the past thirty-eight years, I have successfully represented my clients before these agencies in audits, appeals, and collection matters. I have also successfully represented my clients in the U.S. Tax Court, the U.S. Federal District Court, the U.S. Claims Court, the Minnesota Tax Court, and the Minnesota Supreme Court.

You may be faced with the difficult task of trying to resolve a tax dispute, but you do not know your options. You may disagree with a tax or penalty being proposed against you or your business, or you may be trying to determine how you can deal with an outstanding tax debt owed by you or your business.

This is a specialized area of law and you need to talk with someone who can give you an idea of your options for proceeding. This is what I do. This is why people call me. I welcome your call or e-mail.

We will not know which approach to resolving your case with the IRS or the State of Minnesota is best for you until we talk. My goal is to find the solution that is the best solution for you.

The following list includes only some of the issues I handle, but it should give you a good idea of what I do.

  • Abatement of Tax and Penalties
  • Appeals From Audits, Commissioner's Orders and Other Government Actions
  • Audit Reconsiderations
  • Independent Contractor/Employee Determinations
  • Innocent and Injured Spouse Requests
  • Installment Agreements
  • Levy Releases
  • Lien Discharges, Releases, Subordinations and Withdrawals
  • Officer/Owner Liability for Sales, Employment, and Unemployment Taxes
  • Offer in Compromise
  • Residency Determinations, State and Federal
  • Sales & Use Taxes
  • Trust Fund Recovery Penalty

I welcome your call or email.
